Four new Friars in Morocco
At the beginning of December 2002, four new Friars left the fraternity of Notre Dame des Nations in Brussels for Morocco. They are: Br. Gabriele Sabolla (Italian), Br. Ivica Pavlovic (a Croatian from Bosnia), Br. Simeon Stachera (a Pole by birth and a Bolivian by adoption) and Br. Augusto Lessa Ferreira (Brazilian). The small group constitutes an important help and makes the Franciscan presence in Morocco evermore international. The Friars were welcomed with joy by the Council of the Federation and are now completing their formation in situ with an introduction to the local culture, the Islamic religion and to the various forms of Franciscan presence in the region.
