The budget process begins early in the calendar year. Our office sends out an invitation to the various Entities Dependent upon the Minister General, asking them to begin consulting the grassroots about what is being done and needs to be done in the various locations. Then the suggestions can easily be integrated into the agenda of a smaller executive group: house discretorium or Academic Board, for examination and study. Eventually the proposals are reworked so that besides the information we need to examine and plan the day-to-day administration of the Entity, we also have the possibility to prepare different projects to include with our budget proposal for the following year.

This information is then brought to the five friars of the CIRE who examine the budget and call in those responsible for various areas when clarifications are needed.
