    Grottaferrata - 16 May 2000

On Tuesday May 16th, 2000, the Properties Group met at Grottaferrata. Part of the meeting was dedicated to examining further developments relating to our January meeting. The biggest part of the day was spent examining the reality of Collegio San Bonaventura at Grottaferrata.

One starts by getting a birds’ eye view of the structure: here the vicar of the house, Fr. Johannes Freyer accompanies the group to an examination of the roof top and the property extension. After this the group visits the various areas of the house used for study and for the activity of the publishing activities of the Fondazione Frati Editori di Quaracchi.

The Guardian, Fr. Romain Mailleux shows the group some of the volumes found in the inventory.

Here too, the group worked hard at formulating a report that ends up being conveyed to the Guardians, the Rettore Magnifico and the Economi of the Entities dependent upon the Minister General, as well as a copy for the General Definitorium. Their input is important as we work throughout the year at preparing our work plan that will be presented at the end of September this year for the budget proposed for the year 2001.

This year there has been a conscious effort to have the grassroots friars more involved in the early stages and throughout the process. We are hoping that this will tap their wisdom and knowledge of the various situations as well as foster an attitude of shared stewardship or responsibility. This participation helps the Properties Group in their work and enables us to formulate a more inclusive and collective plan.
