    1. Direct animation.

  • January:
    • 12 Meeting re our Study Centres at the Congregation for Catholic Education’s centre.
    • 26-31 Fraternal visit to houses of formation in Poland and a three-day meeting with Ministers and Formators of the West Slavic Conference, on initial and on-going formation and the pastoral care of vocations.

    • 2. Other engagements.

    • Coordination of formation sabbaticals in the Holy Land. SGFS organised three formation sabbaticals in the H.L. this year: 30 June-31 July in Portuguese, 23 August-26 September in Spanish, 28 October-2 December in English. 60 friars took part.

    • 2nd Course for OFM formators. Held in PAA in French, English and German. 45 formators took part.

    • Courses in foreign languages. This year SGFS organised an Italian course at the PAA during the month of September. It further organised, with the German Provinces, the course in German.

    • Administration of the Formation and Studies Fund. The SGF, under the Minister General and through the Commission for Financial Requests, administers the fund for formation and studies. This fund is chiefly destined for assisting poor Entities in maintaining their houses of formation, and for scholarships to OFM students who need them. About 60 scholarships are given annually.

    • Administrative practice. The SGFS carries forward the administrative practice of about 400 envelopes per annum.
