The JPIC Animation Committee proposed to the General Definitory that our efforts for the Jubilee and beyond be orientated towards implementing the priority related to refugees, internally displaced people and ethnic minorities in the context of the Jubilee demand for: freedom of slaves, restitution of land and the cancellation of the debt. The JPIC International Council Priorities (Rome, September 1997) can be incorporated within this perspective. The following is a summary of some of the work of the JPIC office as well as that taking place in the Order and has a definite relationship to the above priorities.
