Fermate l’irresponsabile decisione per la moschea a Nazareth Da Israele giunge notizia che a Nazareth hanno iniziato i sondaggi del terreno in vista della costruzione di una moschea nelle immediate vicinanze della basilica dell’Annunciazione, Santuario dell’Incarnazione del Divin Verbo, ufficiato dai francescani della Custodia di Terra Santa. Una rappresentanza del Governo israeliano, che ha deliberato la costruzione a dispetto del parere unanime del mondo cristiano, era presente. La notizia non può che allarmare i cristiani del mondo intero che hanno già dimostrato la loro solidarietà con la Custodia di Terra Santa, dal momento che la moschea — avversata anche da esponenti di spicco del mondo islamico, dallo stesso Presidente palestinese e da personalità israeliane — metterebbe effettivamente il celebre Santuario in uno stato d’assedio, con pericolo sia ai religiosi che lo ufficiano, sia ai molti pellegrini che lo desiderano visitare. È urgente che i cattolici, la sacra Gerarchia e le organizzazioni dei fedeli rivolgano un appello pressante al Governo di Israele perché accolga la ben nota domanda della Chiesa — locale ed universale — di revocare l’irresponsabile decisione di erigervi quell’eventuale focolaio di conflitto permanente". Stop the irresponsible decision regarding the mosque at Nazareth “We have received word from Nazareth that technicians are testing the ground in Nazareth with a view to initiating the construction of the a mosque in the area bordering on the Basilica of the Annunciation, the Sanctuary of the Divine Word, cared for by the Franciscans of the Custody of the Holy Land. Representatives of the Government of Israel were present. The government has been facilitating the construction, contrary to the opinion of Christians in the world. This news item is alarming to Christians in the world who have already demonstrated their solidarity with the Custody of the Holy Land. The mosque has already been denounced by leaders of the Islamic world and by the Palestinian President himself. It will effectively lay siege to the famous Sanctuary and present real dangers to both the religious who serve the Sanctuary and the Christian pilgrims who desire to visit it. It is urgent that Catholics, the Hierarchy of the Church and Catholic Organizations carry out a high pressure lobby aimed at the Government of Israel to accept the well known demands of the local and universal Church. Llamada de los frailes de la Custodia de Tierra Santa

Parad la irresponsable decisión de construir al mezquita en Nazaret Nos llega desde Israel la noticia de que en Nazaret han empezado a sondear el terreno con vistas a la construcción de una mezquita junto a la basílica de la Anunciación, santuario de la Encarnación del Verbo, atendido por los franciscanos de la Custodia de Tierra Santa. Asistió una representación del Gobierno de Israel, que ha aprobado la construcción en contra del parecer unánime del mundo cristiano. La noticia no puede menos que alarmar a los cristianos del mundo entero, que han demostrado su solidaridad con al Custodia de Tierra Santa, puesto que la mezquita —desaprobada por destacados representantes del mundo islámico, empezando por el mismo Presidente de la Autoridad palestina, y por personalidades israelitas- colocaría el santuario católico en permanente estado de asedio, con riesgo tanto para los religiosos que lo atienden como para los numerosos peregrinos que desean visitarlo. Es urgente que los católicos, la jerarquía eclesiástica y las organizaciones de fieles dirijan una llamada urgente al Gobierno de Israel para que atienda la petición de la Iglesia -local y universal- y revoque la irresponsable decisión de erigir allí un foco de continuos conflictos.
