The Holy Father nominated bishop of Almaty in Kazakhstan, the Rev.Br.Henry Theopilus Howaniec, O.F.M., actual Apostolic Administrator. CURRICULUM VITAE Br Henry Theopilus Howaniec, O.F.M., was born on 14th February 1931 in Chicago, USA. On August 15th 1952 he was solemnly professed in the Order of Friars Minor. Was ordained priest on the 14th June 1956. He studied at Chicago and Cedar Lake, in the State of Indiana. He took courses of specialisation at the University of Milwauke, the Antonianum in Roma and at the "Centro Russia Cristiana" of Seriate, in the province of Bergamo. He studied the language, history and russian literature. He was animator of the "Franciscan Recessus" - house of prayer - at the noviciate of Lake Genewa, Wisconsin. In his pastoral ministry he was chaplain of the catholic hospital of St. Vincent in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and for many years offered his services in various parishes. He resides in Kazakhstan since November 1993 risiede where he was vicar and administrator of the parish of Blessed Mary in Almaty and Guardian of the friary there. On August 6th 1999 he was nominated Apostolic Administrator of Almaty.

CURRICULUM VITAE Fr Henry Theopilus Howaniec, O.F.M., è nato il 14 febbraio 1931 a Chicago, USA. Il 15 agosto 1952 ha emesso la Professione solenne nell'Ordine dei Frati Minori. E' stato ordinato sacerdote il 14 giugno 1956. Ha studiato a Chicago ed a Cedar Lake, nello Stato di Indiana. Ha seguito corsi speciali all'Università di Milwauke, all'Antonianum di Roma e al "Centro Russia Cristiana" di Seriate, nella provincia di Bergamo. Ha anche studiato storia, lingua e letteratura russa. E' stato animatore di "Franciscan Recessus" - Casa di Preghiera - nel Noviziato di Lake Genewa, Wisconsin. Ha svolto lavoro pastorale come cappellano dell'ospedale cattolico di St. Vincent di Green Bay, Wisconsin, e per molti anni è stato cooperatore in varie parrocchie. Dal novembre 1993 risiede in Kazakistan dove è stato vicario e amministratore della parrocchia di Maria Santissima in Almaty, nonché Guardiano del Convento in Almaty. Il 6 agosto 1999 è stato nominato Amministratore Apostolico di Almaty.
