Province of St. John Capistran in Hungary Budapest, 10 November, 1988 Dear Brothers, I am turning to you because of the emergency in which we find ourselves in Hungary. Because of rain and consequent flooding, thousands of people are without homes. This the situation in some of "our" parishes: Huszt: 1,000 homes destroyed, 6,000 people homeless. Visk: 80 homes destroyed, 1,380 homeless. Feketeardó: 60 homes destroyed, 280 homeless. Csetlalva: 19 homes destroyed, 22 uninhabitable, 200 people homeless. Sárosoroszi: 15 homes destroyed, the village is actually unreachable. We are asking you to help quickly. Any amount is welcome! All over Hungary right now the people are being asked for generous help. We also as a Province are in solidarity with those who have suffered this catastrophe.
