In the Yugoslav territory the Ordser of Friars Minor is present through: 1. The Province of St. Cyril and St. Methodius (Zagabria) actually has four friaries in the area which is actually being bombarded by NATO: Belgrade - Zemun - three friars Novi Sad, two friars Subotica, six friars Bac, one Friar. The Friaries of Belgrade and Novi Sad are in the vicinity of the military barracks and thus are at great risk. Up to the evenening of the 26 th March the Friars, contacted by the General Curia, have confirmed that they are all well and that no damage had been incurred by the frairies. At Novi Sad no victims were noted though the bombardments had provoked great damage to the civilian dwellings. 2. The Province of Sarajevo (Holy Cross) is present at Beograd (four friars) and Djakovica - Kosovo (four friars - three of Albanian origins). 3. The Province of St. Jerome (Zara) is present at Tuzi (four friars) and Kotor - Montenegro (one friar) The Friars ask for the prayers of the whole Franciscan Family for them and for their population.

Bombardamento NATO e i Frati in Yugoslavia

Nel territorio jugoslavo ci sono 8 conventi dei Frati Minori che dipendono da tre Province OFM: 1. La Provincia dei Ss. Cirillo e Metodio di Zagabria ha quattro Conventi nelle zone che sono attualmente colpite dai bombardamenti della NATO: Belgrado - Zemun, con tre Frati; Novi Sad, due Frati Subotica, 6 Frati Bac, 1 Frate. I Conventi di Belgrado e di Novi Sad sono nelle vicinanze di caserme, dunque corrono grandi rischi. Sino alla sera del 26 marzo i Frati, contattati dalla Curia generale, hanno confermato che non ci sono stati danni ai loro Conventi né alle persone. A Novi Sad non venivano segnalate vittime, ma i bombardamenti hanno provocato molti danni alle abitazioni civili. 2. La Provincia francescana di Sarajevo (S. Croce in Bosnia Argentina) ha due presenze: Beograd 4 frati, Djakovica (Kosovo): 4 frati (3 d'origine albanese). 3. La Provincia francescana di S. Girolamo (Zara) ¶ a Tuzi con 4 frati e a Kotor (Montenegro) con 1 frate. I Frati si affidano al ricordo della Famiglia francescana, e chiedono preghiere per loro e per la popolazione.

Hermanos en Yugoslavia

La Provincia de los santos Cirilo y Metodio, de Zagreb, tiene cuatro conventos en las zonas que están siendo bombardeadas por la OTAN - Zagreb-Zemun (tres Hermanos); - Novi San (dos Hermanos); - Subotica (seis Hermanos); - Bac (un Hermano) Los Conventos de Belgrado y de Novi Sad están cerca de cuarteles; corren, por tanto, mucho peligro. Los Hermanos han confirmado que hasta el 26 de marzo por la tarde, en que la Curia general pudo ponerse en contacto con ellos, no han sufrido daños personales ni materiales. En Novi Sad no se tiene noticias de que los bombardeos hayan provocado muertes, pero sí han causado mucho daño en viviendas de la población civil. Los Hermanos piden a la Familia Franciscana que se acuerden de ellos y que rueguen a Dios por ellos y por la población.
