Domenica 3 Settembre 2000, in Piazza San Pietro, il Sommo Pontefice Giovanni Paolo II, beatificherà il Servo di Dio Giovanni XXIII (scomparso nel 1963), Sommo Pontefice e membro dell'Ordine Francescano Secolare.
Nello stesso giorno verranno beatificati i Servi di Dio Pio IX (+1878), Sommo Pontefice; Tommaso Reggio (+1901), Arcivescovo di Genova e fondatore della Congregazione delle Suore di Santa Marta; Gugliermo Chaminade (+1850), Sacerdote e Fondatore della società di Maria e dell'Istituto delle Figlie di Maria Immacolata; e Dom Columba Marmion (+1923) Sacerdote professo dell'Ordine di San Benedetto.
On Sunday 3rd September, at St. Peter's Square, H.H. Pope John Paul II will beatify the Servant of God PopeJohn XXIII (who passed away in 1963). Pope John XXIII was a member of the Secular Franciscan Order.
During the same ceremony Pope John Paul II will beatify the Servants of God Pope Pius IX (+1878), Tommaso Reggio (+1901), Archbishop of Genova and founder of the congregation of the Sisters of Saint Mary; Gugliermo Chaminade (+1850), priest and founder of the Society of Mary and of the Institute of the daughters of the Immaculate Mary and Dom Columba Marmion (+1923) a professed priest of the Benedictine Order.
