Diary 30.05.2003

This is the fifth day of the General Chapter of the Friars Minor, which is being held at St. Mary of the Angels, in Assisi, in a climate of serenity and fraternal joy.

Today the participants continued their reflection in groups on the topics developed by the Minister General, Br. Giacomo Bini, during the previous days. Subsequently, the entire Chapter Assembly gathered to share the work done in the groups and to ask some questions of clarification of Br. Giacomo.

During the last work unit of the day Br. Roman Mailleux, one of the expert jurists, presented some proposals for the revision of the structures of the Order: important topics on which the Chapter will have to express its orientation during the coming sessions.

The work of the Chapter Members will be interrupted during the week-end and they will be taken up once again on Monday 2nd June.

Quinto giorno di lavoro al Capitolo generale dei Frati minori, che si sta svolgendo in Assisi, a S. Maria degli Angeli, in un clima di serenità e di gioiosa fraternità.

Oggi i partecipanti hanno proseguito nei gruppi la riflessione intorno ai temi sviluppati nei giorni scorsi dal Ministro generale, fra Giacomo Bini. Successivamente l’intera Assemblea capitolare si è riunita per condividere il lavoro svolto nei gruppi e per formulare alcune domande di chiarimento a fra Giacomo.

Nell’ultima unità di lavoro di questa giornata, fra Roman Mailleux, perito giurista, ha presentato alcune proposte di revisione delle strutture dell’Ordine; temi importanti sui quali il Capitolo dovrà esprimere nelle prossime sessioni il proprio orientamento.

Durante il fine settimana i lavori capitolari verranno interrotti e riprenderanno nella giornata di lunedì 2 giugno.
