After the election of Br. JosÈ Rodriguez Carballo as Minister General, the Chapter Assembly today elected Br. Antonio Franjic as Vicar General.
Br. Antonio, who was up until now the General Secretary of the Order, was born in CalÏ (Colombia) in 1955 and belongs to the Franciscan Veneto Province. He has carried out many roles so far: Director of Temporary Professed, Provincial Secretary for Formation and Studies, Provincial Definitor, General Visitator, Vicar Provincial, Canon Law lecturer.
He has also carried out roles outside the Order: Defender of the Bond at the Regional Ecclesiastical Tribunal of Triveneto, Theology Lecturer to various Religious Institutes, parish priest.
His academic curriculum is significant: B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature, Baccalaureate in Theology, Diploma in Archive Studies, Diploma in the Theology and Law of Religious, Licence in "Utroque Iure" (Civil and Canon Law).
Speaks English, Spanish, Croatian and Italian while he understands German and written french.
