Following the first week of study, reports and work in the different language groups, there began a focusing on the fundamental topics. The first proposals for the renewal of the structures of the Order are gradually emerging. We have thus reached the second week of work in the PCO. The first conclusions on the Instrumentum Laboris were brought to an end in the plenary session today, where the Council Members presented in the hall their reactions to Chapters II and III of the IL in regard to the general structures (Minister and Vicar general, the Definitory General and the PCO) and intermediate structures (Conferences, zones of interaction, etc.). Among other things, the method of electing the Definitory General was discussed, or the need to find another method of selection for election of the Definitors General that are not exclusively territorial or linguistic. On discussing the intermediate structures (the Conferences) the members took cognisance of the fact that at times they are not functional because of cultural and linguistic diversity and of the enormous distances that separate the entities that compose them (the Sub-Saharan and Asiatic Conferences). Another mode of increasing the function of animation within the Conferences is being sought therefore, besides thinking of re-structuring and increasing the relations between the Conferences themselves. After the first plenary session the members returned to work in linguistic groups, a task that continued through the first afternoon session. At the beginning of the second afternoon plenary session the members of the PCO joined in prayer for the victims of the air disaster in New York, expressing solidarity with the families of the victims and with the friars of the Provinces of the United States.

Dopo una prima settimana di studio, relazioni e lavoro nei diversi gruppi linguistici, si inizia a focalizzare i temi fondamentali, e gradatemente stanno emergendo le prime proposte per il rinnovo delle strutture dell'Ordine. Siamo così giunti alla seconda settimana di lavoro del CPO. Le prime conclusioni sull'Instrumentum Laboris sono state portate a termine nelle sessioni plenarie di oggi, dove i consigliere hanno presentato in aula le loro reazioni all'IL, capitolo II e III, riguardanti le strutture generali (Ministro e Vicario generale, Definitorio generale, CPO) e quelle intermedie (Conferenze, zone di interazione, ecc.). Tra l'altro si è discusso sulla modalità di elezione del Definitrorio generale, ossia sulla necessità di trovare altre modalità di scelta per l'elezione dei definitori generali che non sia esclusivamente quella territoriale o linguistica. Discutendo delle strutture intermedie (le conferenze) i consiglieri hanno preso atto del fatto che a volte non sono funzionali per le diversità culturali, linguistiche e l'enorme distanza che separa le stesse entità che la compongono (Conferenza Subsahariana, Conferenza Asiatica). Si cerca perciò di trovare altre modalità per accrescere questa funzione d'animazione all'interno delle Conferenze, ripensandone inoltre la ristrutturazione, e per incrementare le relazioni tra le stesse conferenze. Dopo la prima sessione plenaria i consiglieri sono tornati a lavorare nei gruppi linguistici, un lavoro che hanno proseguito anche nella prima sessione del pomeriggio. All'inizio della seconda sessione plenaria pomeridiana i membri del CPO si sono radunati in preghiera per le vittime dell'ennesima sciagura aerea avvenuta a New York, esprimendo solidarietà ai familiari delle vittime e ai frati delle province degli Stati Uniti.

Después de una semana de estudio, informes y trabajo en grupos lingüísticos empiezan a enfocarse los temas fundamentales y emergen progresivamente las primeras propuestas sobre la renovación de las estructuras de la Orden. Llegamos así a la segunda semana de trabajo del CPO. Las primeras conclusiones sobre el Instrumentum laboris han emergido en las sesiones plenarias de hoy, en las cuales los Consejeros han presentado sus reacciones al IL, capítulos II y III, relativos a las estructuras generales (Ministro y Vicario general, Definitorio general, CPO) e intermedias (Conferencias, zonas de interacción...). Entre otras cosas, se ha debatido el modo de elegir al Definitorio general, es decir, la necesidad de encontrar modos que no sean exclusivamente territoriales o lingüísticos de elegir a los Definidores generales. Dialogando sobre las estructuras intermedias, los Consejeros han tomado nota de que las Conferencias a veces no son funcionales por las diversidades culturales y lingüísticas y por las enormes distancias que separan a las Entidades que las componen (Conferencia Subsahariana, Conferencia Asiática). Por eso, se busca encontrar otros modos, a fin de acrecentar la función de animación en el seno de las Conferencias -repensando además su reestructuración- y de aumentar las relaciones entre unas Conferencias y otras. Después de la primera sesión plenaria, los Consejeros han vuelto a trabajar en grupos lingüísticos durante la segunda parte de la mañana y la primera de la tarde. Al principio de la segunda sesión plenaria de la tarde, los miembros del CPO han orado por las víctimas del desastre aéreo acontecido esta mañana en Nueva York y han expresado su solidaridad con los familiares de las víctimas y los Hermanos de las Provincias de USA.
