To the participants of the PCO 2001

At this time of grace for our Order, it is a great honour to receive the PCO 2001, the first of the third millennium, in our Province of saints Francis and James.

In the name of all the Friars and of the entire Franciscan Family, I give a most cordial welcome to our Minister General, Br. Giacomo Bini, to the Vicar General, Br. Estêvao Ottenbreit, to the Definitors general, to the delegates representing all the Conferences of the Order, the experts and Officials to this Plenary Council.

You are welcome to this land that was evangelized right from the beginning by Franciscan Friars, which fills us with pride, and who ask us to continue with the unforgettable work for the building up of the Kingdom of God.

We have prayer and will continue to pray for the success of your meeting.

May the Most Holy Virgin of Zapopan intercede before her Son for the successful development of your labours. May your feel at home.
