the Rectors of the Universities and Research Centres of the Order of Friars Minor enclosed on the Island of Formica (TP - Sicily), have you in their thoughts and their prayers, and speak again to you, with deep love, the words that Francis offered:
"To all the mayors and consuls, magistrates and rulers everywhere, and to all those to whom this letter shall come, Brother Francis, little and looked down upon, your servant in the Lord God, wishes health and peace."
Thinking of the immense tragedies that our world is experiencing, we friars, with much humility and clarity, remind you not to become instruments of evil through pride, arrogance, or egotism.
You have been chosen by the Lord to serve people, to protect the weak, to assure justice, to care for the innocent, to save the earth, the greatest gift of his Love.
You must know that we are always your servants in that greatest commitment: to save the blood of the innocent, and to give our own, in order that war may die in peace.
In the name of the Lord, make use of us! We have chosen love as our calling.
