The work schedule for today (24 September 2001) had some small changes from that foreseen. At 8:30 AM we celebrated the Eucharist, the president of the Ecumenical Institute of Venice, Br. Roberto Giraldi presiding. At 9:20 we began our working session in the hall with the reading, discussion and approval of the message of the Congress to our "Brother Terrorists," which was sent to the national and international press.
At 10:00 AM Br. Francisco Fresneda gave his presentation to the Congress with the title, "The human face of God." At 11:30 there were presentations of the Universities of Colombia, Siena College (U.S.A.), the Studium Biblicum of Hong Kong, the Institute of Oriental Studies (Egypt), and the Study Centers of Mexico and Poland.
In the afternoon the work began at 3:45PM with the "Communication" of Br. Javier Luis Uribe on "The Educational Project of a Franciscan University." We then moved to the discussion of several messages. That addressed to the "Heads of the Peoples" was approved. The work-groups than continued their discussion of the final proposals.
At the end of the afternoon we received a visit from the President of the Region of Sicily Totò Cuffaro, together with other authorities of the island. With them we celebrated Vespers and then shared supper, a joyful time of fraternity.
Two messages approved by the general assembly, one addressed to the Terrorists of the world and the other to the heads of peoples, where deleivered to the press.

L’orario di lavoro della giornata odierna (24 settembre 2001) ha dovuto subire alcuni cambiamenti dal programma previsto. Nella mattinata alle 8.30 abbiamo celebrato l’Eucaristia, presieduta da Fr. Roberto Giraldi, preside dell’Istituto Ecumenico di Venezia. Alle 9.20 abbiamo iniziato la sessione di lavoro in aula con la lettura, la discussione e l’approvazione del messaggio del Congresso ai "Fratelli terroristi" che è stato inviato alla stampa nazionale ed internazionale.
Alle 10.00 Fr. Francisco Fresneda ha tenuto la sua relazione al Congresso dal titolo: "Il volto umano di Dio". Alle 11.30 sono state presentate le Università della Colombia, il Siena College (U.S.A.), lo Studio Biblico di Hong Kong, l’Istituto di Studi Orientali (Egitto), i Centri di Studio del Messico e della Polonia.
Nel pomeriggio la sessione di lavoro è iniziata alle 15.45 con la "Comunicazione" di Fr. Javier Luis Uribe sul "Progetto educativo di una Università francescana". Di seguito si è passati alla discussione di alcuni messaggi. E’ stato approvato quello alle "Autorità dei popoli". Si è continuato poi il lavoro in gruppi dove si sono discusse le proposte finali.
Al termine del pomeriggio è venuto a visitarci il Presidente della Regione Sicilia Totò Cuffaro insieme ad altre autorità dell’isola. Insieme a loro abbiamo celebrato i Vespri e poi abbiamo condiviso la cena, un momento gioioso di fraternità.
Due messaggi, uno indirizzato ai terroristi del mondo e l'altro ai capi dei popoli, sono stati approvati dall'assemblea e consegnati alla stampa.

El horario de trabajo del día de hoy (24-9-2001) ha sufrido algunos cambios a lo que era previsto en el programa. Por la mañana, a las 8,30 hemos celebrado la Eucaristía, presidida por Fr. Roberto Giraldi, preside el Instituto Ecuménico de Venecia. A las 9,20 iniciamos las sesiones de trabajo en el aula con la lectura, discusión y aprobación del mensaje del Congreso a lo9s "Hermanos terroristas" que es enviado a la prensa nacional e internacional.
A las 10,00 Fr. Francisco Fresneda ha tenido su relación al Congreso: "El rostro humano de Dios".
A las 11,30 han sido presentadas las Universidades de Colombia, Siena College, Bíblico de Hong Kong, Instituto de Estudios Orientales, Centros de Estudio de México y Polonia.
Por la tarde la sesión de trabajo comenzó a las 3,45 con la "Comunicación" de Fr. Javier Luis Uribe sobre el « Proyecto educativo de una Universidad Franciscana ». Seguidamente se pasó a la discusión de algunos mensajes. Fue aprobado uno a las "Autoridades de los pueblos". Luego se pasó al trabajo en grupos sobre las propuestas finales.
A última hora nos vino a visitar el Presidente de la Región de Sicilia con otras autoridades de la Isla. Con ellos celebramos las Vísperas y luego compartimos la cena. Fue un momento muy hermoso de fraternidad.
Dos mensajes, uno dirigido a los terroristas de todo el mundo y el otro, a las autoridades de los pueblos, han sido aprobados por la asamblea y entregados a la prensa.
