The Feast of the Grand Chancellor and of the Pontifical University Antonianum in Rome

grancancell027The Feast of the Grand Chancellor and of the Pontifical University Antonianum (Rome) was celebrated on 18th January. This year the celebration took the form of a two-day Seminar (17th and 18th January) on “Ecumenism as the foundation for peace”. Within this overall title, the 18th January was devoted to the theme “The Role of Religion in the building of peace”. The Seminar took place in the Auditorium of the Antonianum in Rome.

Taking part in the Seminar on 18th January were the Minister General, Br. José Rodríguez Carballo, ofm, Grand Chancellor of the PUA, the Vicar General, Br. Michael Perry, Vice Grand Chancellor, all the members of the General Definitory, the members of the General Secretariat for Formation and Studies, and the Ministers and Custodes participating at the meeting in the General Curia of the new Ministers and Custodes.

The speakers on the day were: His Eminence, Cardinal Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson, President of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace; Br Francisco Ó Conaire ofm, from the Justice and Peace office of the USG; the Ambassadors to the Holy See of the USA, Mr Miguel Humberto Díaz, of Israel, Mr. Mordechai Lewy, of Ireland, Mr. Noel Fahey; and of Canada, Ms.Anne Leahy; and the Minister General Br.
