Minister General Visits Mexico

The Minister General Br. José Rodríguez Carballo, OFM, accompanied by Definitor General Br. Julio Cesar Bunader, OFM, both made fraternal visits to three Provinces of Mexico from July 19 to 29 and met with their Provincial Ministers and Definitories. The agenda followed this schedule: from June 19 to 21, they visited the Province of “Saint Philip of Jesus” in Cancun and Izamal; from June 22-24, they visited the Province of “Blessed Junipero Serra” in both Tijuana and Sonora; and from June 25-27 the Province of the “Holy Gospel” in Mexico City, Oaxaca, and Calpan. Then, on June 28 they met with the Provincial Definitories of the Entities of Mexico. During the visit, the Minister General met the Friars in initial and ongoing formation, the Poor Clares, the Franciscan Family, with the SFO Regional Council and YouFra. Likewise, he presided over the anniversary celebrations of consecrated life, the profession of novices, and the blessings of new venues and facilities.
