International Congress on Evangelization

The Franciscan Theological Institute with headquarters in Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will host the International Congress on Evangelization this month of September, 2011. Among other objectives is the possibility to analyze and understand new scenarios where the evangelizing mission is heading forward and to suggest new ways of doing pastoral theology.

It will be an academic Congress in which the participants will have the opportunity to exchange experiences and to share the researches that have been carried out in the study centers. Such will also allow a favorable space for the discussion of relevant contemporary topics that challenge and summon us to new possibilities for evangelization.

The Congress is meant for professors and students as well as to those who are interested with the topic, in one way or another. As such, it will coincide with the Eighth Convention of Professors and Directors of the Study Centers affiliated to the Pontifical University of Antonianum (Rome) which also takes place in Petrópolis, this year.

From the General Curia, it will be attended by Br. Arturo Ríos Lara, the OFM General Animator for Evangelization.
