Mission sending of two missionary Friars

On Sunday, November 20, 2011, Solemnity of Christ the King, two new missionary friars: Brothers Alfronso Pupo and Eufrosino Solibar, were sent off by the Minister General during the Eucharistic celebration at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels at the Porziuncola. Joining the two in “wearing the crown” were a number of friars Conventuals and Capuchins who were with them in the Brussels’ missionary preparation course (in English) as well as its Coordinator, Br. Gianfrancesco Sisto.

From Rome they were joined by Brothers Massimo and Carlos of the GSME, and Luis Martin. The fraternity of St. Mary of the Angels with their Minister Br. Bruno joyously sponsored the event. The Minister General expressed his great satisfaction not only for the two who were sent to Morocco and Far East, but also for the others who were already this year: 6 friars who were about to begin a new presence in a new area in the Amazons, for the upcoming 4 friars who are now preparing for North Africa, and the 10 friars who had already gone for the Custody of the Holy Land.
