SGME Meeting of the Conference, Brasil

The Interprovincial Secretariat for Evangelization and Missions of the Brazilian Conference gathered at Campo Grande, in Mato Groso del Sud, from April 16-21. The provincial Animators of JPIC also joined the meeting. Taking part in the meeting from the from the General Secretariat for Missions and Evangelization were Fr. Arturo Rios Lara, General Animator of Evangelization and Fr. Estebao Ottenbreit, from the Executive Committee of SGME. Fr. Joao Muniz , the Minister Provincial and Delegate to the Conference, as well as Fr. Roberto Miguel, the Custos, were also with us..

We worked on the reality of Missionary Evangelization and JPIC in our different Entities as well as our common projects within the Conference. We discussed the important subject of the second Franciscan Missionary Congress of Latin America and the Caribbean which we will celebrate in Canindé, Brazil, next year from April 21-27, 2013. At the same time, a group of young people worked from the perspective of the World Youth Day (WYD), which will be celebrated in Brazil, and which was also a subject of our meeting. At the conclusion on Friday evening there was a celebration with the youth on the impact of the internet and social networking. Fr. Jean di Souza, Secretary for Mission Evangelization for the Conference, coordinated all of the activities.
