Under 10: Presentations, Opening Mass

P1090160We begin this Fourth Chapter of Mats under ten at the feet of Our Lady of Zapopan, whose image was brought to this temple by a missionary about the year 1528. Since then, this town of Guadalajara has venerated her as a tender Mother; invoked her as an unparalleled Advocate; experienced her as a traveling companion; and listened to her as an incomparable teacher. She and her “sisters” of San Juan de los Lagos, Talpa and Santa Anita, also guarded by the Franciscans, accompany this deeply Marian town in their joys, fears, and hopes, by being strength to the afflicted, health to the sick, encouragement to the weary, refuge of sinners, consolation to the sad, hope for the hopeless, and joy to all.
