From May 29-31, the Minister General, Br. Jose Rodriguez Carballo, OFM, accompanied by Br. Vicente Felipe Definitor, OFM, made a fraternal visit to the Franciscan Province of Granada. The visit started with a visit to Chipiona, where after lunch he met a group of brothers, followed by a visit to the sick brothers, and then another visit to a large group of lay people associated with the Franciscans. At the Shrine of Our Lady of Regla, he celebrated Mass for the people.
On May 30, the Minister went to the convent of Estepa where he met with about 200 Poor Clares of the Federation of our Lady of Regla and about 30 Franciscan Conceptionists. After the meeting, he celebrated the Eucharist again and shared lunch with the Sisters and Brothers who came from different fraternities. After lunch, they went to Martos where he visited the College run by the Province. There he met with teachers and the Franciscan fraternity. In the morning of May 31, the Minister met with the College students, visited the museum, and inaugurated the new nursery of the College. He then went to Granada where he met the Definitory and visited the “Cardinal Cisneros” University residence. Late in the afternoon, Br. Jose and Br. Vincent both left for Madrid from where they then proceeded toward Mexico to participate in the Chapter of Friars “under ten”.
