Visit of the MG to the Province of St. Mary of the Angels (Poland)

Accompanied by Definitor General, Br. Ernest Siekierka, OFM, from June 14-16, Br. Jose Rodriguez Carballo, OFM, Minister General, made a fraternal visit to the Province of St. Mary of the Angels in Poland. The visit began on June 14 with a meeting with the Cardinal of Krakow, Msgr. Stanislaw Dziwisz, in his archbishopric. The rest of the morning was spent in a lengthy meeting with the Provincial Definitory. Then in the afternoon, after lunch, at the headquarters of the Provincial Curia, the Minister General went to Bronowice, a formation house of the Simply Professed where he met with all the candidates, postulants, novices, and temporary professed. The day concluded with the Mass celebrated by the Minister General, followed by dinner, and then recreation.

In the morning of June 15, Br. Jose met the first group of Brothers and later went to Wieliczka where he met with all the Guardians and students of the Seraphic College. On June 16 after the Mass, the Minister met with the second group of brothers who came from different houses of the Province. After lunch, an “homagium”, and the blessing of the Minister, both he and Br. Ernest left for Rome, where they arrived late in the afternoon.
