Meeting of the International Commission of Pastoral education

The newly appointed Educational Pastoral Commission of the met betwen the 11th and the 13th of May 2010. They include: Br Anthony Herrera (Spain), Br Ariel Amato (Argentina), Br Jaime Spengler (Brazil), Br Joaquin Arturo Echeverry (Colombia), Br Peter Schorr (Germany), Br Thomas Ferry Suharto (Indonesia). Other two members of the Commission, Br. José Martins do Casal (Guinea Bissau) and Br. William Farris (USA) could not be present. AB the GSME under the guidance of Fr. Arturo Ríos Lara, the Commission – which met with the Minister and the General Definitory – has set the following agenda: to raise awareness of the guidelines “Go and teach” prepared in 2009, after several years of investigation and study in the whole Order; to celebrate regional and continental meetings and continue to further study the theme of anthropology and Franciscan pedagogy. The next meeting of the Commission will be held in Spain in April 2011.
