Spiritual Retreat of the General Definitory
Spiritual Retreat of the General Definitory
The weekend of July 3 and 4 of this year, the General Definitory made a spiritual retreat at the Poor Clare’s Monastery of St. Clare of Camerino, Italy. It was founded by Blessed Camilla Battista da Varano, a Poor Clare herself who will be canonized by Pope Benedict XVI Oct. 17, 2010.
The theme of the retreat was “The Timeliness of Blessed Camilla for Society, the Church, and the Franciscan Family”. Three Poor Clare sisters of that monastery led the way with three reflections: Sr. Chiara Laura, Sr. Christiana and Sr. Chiara Francesca. On July 4, the Minister General presided over a Mass open to the public in the afternoon. Afterwards, the whole General Definitory visited the convent where the Capuchin reform began in Pierccavata, the seat of the interprovincial novitiate for the Capuchins in central Italy.
