The Congregation for Catholic Education (for Seminaries and Institutes of Studies) having given close consideration to the request of the Most Reverend Minister General of the Order of Friars Minor, Grand Chancellor of the Pontifical Athenaeum Antonianum in Rome; having ensured that within the same Pontifical Athenaeum every requirement has been complied with for the canonical erection of a Faculty of Biblical and Archaeological Sciences; and having examined the matter from every angle and discussed it with all interested parties, in conformity with article 61 of the Apostolic Constitution Sapientia Christiana, erects and declares erected within the above-mentioned Pontifical Athenaeum

THE FACULTY
OF BIBLICAL SCIENCES
AND ARCHAEOLOGY
in the city of Jerusalem
("Studium Biblicum Franciscanum")

granting it the power to confer the academic degrees of Baccalaureate in Sacred Theology and the Licenciate and Doctorate in Biblical and Archeological Sciences, in accordance with the academic norms of the Church, and in compliance with the Statutes of the said Faculty. Everything prescribed by law is to be duly observed. Anything to the contrary notwithstanding.
