Intermediate Chapter of the Province of the Assumption of the BVM in Poland

From the 4th-10th May, 2025, the XXXVIII Provincial Chapter of the Province of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was held at the Friary of the Friars Minor in Katowice-Panewniki, Poland. The Chapter was held in the special year in which we celebrate the 170th anniversary of the foundation of our Province and had as its motto: "He who has ears, let him hear what the Spirit says..." (cf. Rev 2:7). 

40 friars from the different fraternities took part in the Chapter work, together with Br. Konrad Cholewa, OFM, General Definitor for the North Slavic Conference (SLAN), who brought us the message of the Minister General Br. Massimo Fusarelli, OFM. 

In a spirit of fraternity, simplicity and openness to the action of the Holy Spirit, the participants collaborated in identifying the guidelines for formation, pastoral care and the organization of provincial life for the coming years.  

The fruit of this discernment is the Life Project of the Province for the three-year period 2025-2028, which will represent a point of reference for the journey of our fraternity. 
During the Chapter, voting was held for the election of the new Provincial Definitory, which will support the Minister Provincial, Br. Witosław Sztyk, in the next three years. 
The new Definitors were elected: Br. Ksawery Majewski OFM, Br. Ireneusz Toczydłowski OFM, Br. Samuel Kukiełka OFM, Br. Walenty Piechaczek OFM and Br. Masseo Senczek OFM.
