OFS, National Elective Chapter of Haiti

11th January, 2026

26 January 2026

On the 11th January 11, 2026, the national fraternity of the Secular Franciscan Order of Haiti held its Elective Chapter. Unfortunately, due to the political unrest in the country, the delegates of CIOFS, in particular Adolph Atsu Assagba and Br. Pedro Zitha, OFM, were unable to reach Haiti, but thanks to a special permission they were able to conduct the Chapter via Zoom, under the supervision of the National Spiritual Assistant, Br. Fenol Laugene, OFM.

In the elective session, Dionisse Edouarzin, OFS, was elected National Minister and International Councilor.
We thank all the brothers and sisters for the understanding and cooperation shown during the elective session. Despite the distance, everything happened with serenity and enthusiasm.
We continue to pray for peace and harmony in Haiti, so that one day the delegates of CIOFS will be able to visit the sisters and brothers of the OFS to strengthen the bond of unity and communion.
